JAAS members are invited to submit proposals for papers to be included in the 18th issue (June 2007) of the Japanese Journal of American Studies. Papers on any topic within the field of American Studies are welcome. In general, we publish papers that shed light on aspects of American ways of life, society, history, literature, politics, economics, law, art and architecture, and uses of electronic communications media. In this volume, the journal will also be publishing papers presented at the JAAS 40th anniversary symposium “American Studies in Trans-Pacific Perspective.”
Proposals, consisting of a title and abstract (approximately 300 words), are due by January 19th 2006, and should be sent to the Editorial Committee, JAAS, c/o Center for Pacific and American Studies, University of Tokyo, 3-8-1 Komaba, Meguro-ku, Tokyo 153-8902. The completed manuscripts will be due May 11th, 2006 (maximum 7000 words, including notes).
